HermèsSilk square Grand Apparat (1962)
Description:
Rare for sale
Designer: Jacques Eudel
Published in 1962
This square shows different pieces of ceremonial harnesses: saddles, ornaments for parades and ceremonies. The luxury of these gala harnesses, made of embossed leather, trimmed with bangs or braids, enhanced with bronze elements, laurel leaves, royal emblems, coats of arms, indicates the nobility of the character transported and the importance of the event. Held in place by pyramidal nails and soutaches, the center panel is inspired by the design of a horse harnessed for a carriage project for the coronation of Louis XVIII. And the braids are reminiscent of manes, always impeccably coiffed and sometimes even tied with ribbons. The Hermes box that will be provided with it is not the original one of the time.
Good general condition: small stains barely visible (photo), no thread pulled, no hole, a slightly faded line on the edge of the square in blue.
