Curated style by the Kiko Kostadinov Studio and the ASICS SportStyle development team, the UB7-S GT-2160™ sneaker is inspired by the themes of Interlaced Assemblages, Functional Utopias and Mino Ceramics.​​ Soft textures are combined with the idea of ​​handcrafted elements found in iconic artworks. By creating matte and washed out colors, the design team was able to enhance the archival form and construction of the traditional running shoe.​ Contrasting with grid-like patterns and bold, opaque colors, the Functional Utopia-inspired variations draw a direct reference to nature. These shiny primary colors are offset by metallic structures that accentuate the double-layered mesh materialization. The designers also explored the influences of Mino ceramics by studying the contemporary processes of the rust-like properties that appear in Mino glazes. This process views images as a vessel of toned-down colors that can stand the test of time.
