A powdery and sophisticated iris mixed here with musky and woody accents of cedar and violet. Its pleasant floral scent envelops the senses and creates an unforgettable signature, a perfect marriage of floral grace and woody warmth.
Its absolute essence is obtained after an extremely gentle distillation, which requires a very slow process and a particularly low yield. This makes it one of the most majestic products in a perfumer’s palette.
A true high-end perfumery, an absolute is the most precious oil of the vegetable raw material. Absolues are highly concentrated natural fragrant plant extracts produced from a plant thanks to the extractive action of an organic solvent. Extraction begins with maceration (from the Latin macerare “to soak”) of the plant to obtain what is called a concentrate. This solid concentrate is then dissolved in alcohol, the insoluble waxes are eliminated while the pigments and essences are retained. The final step consists of separating the alcohol from the perfumed substance: the result is an absolute, a dense, precious and very concentrated liquid.
