A veritable jewel in the crown of fine perfumery, an absolute is the most precious essence of a plant's raw material. Like an elixir, an absolute is obtained by the extractive action of an organic solvent on a plant. Extraction begins with maceration of the plant to obtain what is known as a concrete. This solid concrete is then melted in alcohol to remove the insoluble waxes, while retaining all the pigments and essences. A final operation separates the alcohol from the fragrance: the result is the absolute, a dense, precious, highly concentrated liquid.
To further enrich this range of skincare products, olive oil, an emblematic raw material of the region, is at the heart of each formula.
