Esprit Provence - 'Muguet Shea Butter' Soap - 250 g

Muguet shea butter soap 250g

The Phocaean city has had soap factories since the 12th century, they use olive oil from Provence. At that time, factories were struggling to meet strong European demand.

In 1660, the production figures of the 7 soap factories amounted to 20,000 tonnes. Under Louis XIV, the name “Savon de Marseille” became a common name, it was sold in the form of 176 ounce cubes or 705 ounce bars.

It was in 1688 that the edict of Louis

Today, the absence of a geographical designation of origin has led to a significant decline in production in the Marseille region: of the 122 factories at the beginning of the 20th century, only around ten remain in the Provençal region.

Gentle, natural and effective: Non-aggressive for the skin. Recommended by the medical profession for people with skin problems. Recommended for washing delicate laundry (lace, silk, baby clothes).

Environmentally friendly: Most commercial soaps and shower gels are made from animal materials or petroleum derivatives. Marseille soap only contains vegetable oils: olive or copra oil and palm oil. Containing neither phosphates nor synthetic products, it thus contributes to the preservation of our environment.

Economical: it lasts twice as long as regular soap. Its longevity makes it an economical product.

Remedy for cramps: A slice of Marseille placed at the bottom of the bed and wrapped in a cloth, very effective in preventing cramps and rheumatism.

As a toothpaste: Used as a toothpaste, it is very good for the gums. As a stain remover: A stain rubbed before washing with slightly damp soap will be treated more effectively than with any synthetic detergent (ideal for shirt collars).
