A perfume in collaboration with Jacques Damase and Justin Vivian Bond, intended to celebrate the centenary of the Ballets Russes in Paris (1912-2012) and unite in a bottle a quest for synesthesia, where the poetry of Stéphane Mallarmé (Prince of Poets), the dance of Vaslav Nijinsky (this leaping madman with the scandalous genius), the painting of Leon Bakst, and the music of Claude Debussy would mingle. All are very much alive here. An aesthetic and eternal blend of genres.
Here is the Faun. I have seen the Faun. The nymphs are undressing the nymph for the bath. On his hill, the Faun takes an interest. He mingles with the virgin troupe. The Faun and the nymph stand alone, facing each other. The heat wavers between them. They gaze at one another. The beautiful countrywoman and the charming animal compete. The young faun rediscovers pride in his animal strength. A sash, his sash, lies in the grass. It is his prize. He embraces it, sniffs it, carries it to his cot, and revels in it. "Couple, farewell.
