Extraordinary set from CHRISTA DE CAROUGE,
Consisting of a jacket and matching hat/bonnet, both in silk and both quilted on the inside. The ensemble is cozy and light, perfect for mid-season and of course ideal with lagenlook.
Splendidly subtle and hard to describe, it's a reddish-brown quite close to what, in paint cans, is called le rouge indien . The jacket is very Japanese in shape, as always with Christa, and has no fastenings.
The ensemble is fully reversible, with pockets on both sides. One side is in raw, slightly laineuse silk, the other in fine, very smooth silk in the same shade, but slightly more plum. The hat is also reversible.
Size fits M-L-XL, see jacket measurements: single width under arms approx. 70 cm (approximate measurement because of kimono sleeves), middle 55 cm, length 85 cm. The flat hat measures 42 cm in diameter, head circumference approx. 56 cm.
This set is particularly rare in 2 respects: the color, very unusual for the designer, and the presence of a hat (to my knowledge, Christa has never offered hats in her boutiques; this set was specially made to order, and bears no label... but the style is clearly recognizable!)
