UVB & UVA are the primary triggering factors of hyperpigmentation. It has also been recently proven that the major element triggering melasma is visible light and particularly a part of it, blue light.
Photoderm M SPF50+ was tailored with dermatologists to address the causes and consequences of melasma:
- It provides the highest blue light protection on the market: 61%* to prevent recurrences.
- Enriched with glabridin, the new patented formula also biologically regulates the pigmentation process and thus helps to prevent pigmentation spots, reduce their appearance and limit their recurrence.
- The high concentration of pigments have the power to stop blue light damages. It also allows high coverage to perfectly hide dark spots with a pleasant powdery finish and mattifying power.
- The SUN ACTIVE DEFENSE technology, rather than overlaoding the skin with filters, reinforces the skin's self-defence abilities to compensate for the biological impacts of UVA. It brings an antioxidant protection and maintains skin immune defenses under the sun.

How to use it
Apply daily to minimize the risks of pigmentation.
Step 1: Apply evenly and generously daily to face and neck before sun exposure (a small amount of product lowers the level of sun protection).
Step 2: Reapply after sweating, swimming or towel drying to maintain protection.
Avoid contacts with fabrics. Adults. Apply to healthy skin. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with abundant water. Over exposure to the sun can damage the health even with sun protection.

A better understanding for better care
UV exposure appears to be the primary factor in the development and recurrence of melasma, and it has been discovered more recently that visible light, especially blue light, affects pigmentation, making melasma conditions worse.
Skin must be protected against not only UVB and UVA, but especially against blue light to avoid melasma and control its relapses. Tinted formulas protect better against visible light because the pigments present in the formula are have the power to stop blue light damage.
