In the 1950s, the Guerlain family decided to create a fragrance based on the astonishing roots of vetiver. After a few attempts, the Guerlain perfumer came up with a subtle blend evoking the scents rising from the earth in the pale glow of dawn. This evocation of the world's first morning is enriched with a woody accord and the refined elegance of spices and tobacco to create a rare and sophisticated fragrance.

Vetiver draws its character from an innovative accord for perfumery. This one is worked around vetiver, tonka bean, nutmeg and tobacco. The fragrance opens with the spontaneous and spicy freshness of citrus fruits: orange, bergamot, lemon. In the heart, spices like nutmeg and pepper intensify the fragrance, before giving way to vetiver, tobacco and tonka bean. A fresh woody accord for a fragrance with authentic elegance.
